An inspired pairing of island single malt Scotch from the Arran distillery with casks that previously held powerful Italian red wine Amarone. The full-bodied wine brings a lustrous, mouth-filling texture to the whisky, its character coming from Corvina Rondinella and Molinara grape varietals. A delicious foray into Arran drams.
Tasting note:
Nose: Deep, rich and chocolatey, there’s cherry, Turkish delight and cinnamon, backed with toasted oak and old tobacco box.
Palate: Rich and mouth-filling, there’s honey and caramel in with the chocolate, along with poached orchard fruits and more deep spices.
Finish: Long and powerful with cinnamon and cocoa nibs.
