This Ardmore has stored for almost 12 years, on an Ex. Laphroaig Barrel

Nose: Has the ex Laphroaig cask had any influence on this dram? … A rich but Lightly smoked aroma opens the salvo on the nose, with a rich organic note flowing forward, some caramel and hard toffee with sea salty, malt, nuts and not least herbs.

Palate: A forward rich Peat, salted toffee caramel and sweet dried fruits, some iodine arrives in the mid palate, salt, caramel, vanilla, herbs, coconut, a little liquorice, smoke & peat, Long aftertaste with more of that rich smoke, and a final flourish of sweetness from vanilla.
