There are deep herbal, savoury notes in with all the smoke – there’s complexity and elegance in with the power. It seems fitting that Corryvreckan is named after a nearby whirlpool…
Nose: There’s an immediate tidal wave of peat, followed by a resinous pine quality, plasters, iodine, and Bonjela teething gel, all lifted by remarkably zesty citrus.
Palate: Rich, both and mouth-filling, the medicinal notes give way to smoked meats, apple sauce, roadworks, and fresh satsumas.
Finish: Long, lingering and gloriously smoky
