Aldunie 26 Year Old 1997 Whisky Blues 52.6% 70cl
A delight of a well-aged Speyside single malt from The Whisky Blues. Aldine is the name given to independently bottled Kininvie, and this expression has been matured for over a quarter of a century in a barrel. Canadian illustrator Steve Mcdonald has designed the label and pack, tasting inspiration from the flavour profile of the whisky. Bottled at 52.6% ABV, it’s a hearty whisky, packed with all manner of tropical fruit, bakery and herbaceous notes.
Official tasting note:
Nose: sweet and rounded apples, apricots, plums, slight melon, dried pineapple, and white raisins. The mid-palate reveals honey syrup, malt, butter, nuts, and vanilla, while the finish brings out wood, hay, mint, and spices.
Palate: medium-bodied and sweet. Citrus, melon, berries, apricots, malt, honey syrup, butter, vanilla, wood, mint, and spices.
Finish: medium to long. Citrus, apricots, melon, dried fruits, malt, butter chocolate, nuts, woody tannins, mint, and spices.
