Adnams Triple Malt 47%
Made in at the brewery (and now distillery!) in Southwold, Suffolk, this dram is made from three different malted grains. Barley, wheat and oats all shine through, with five years of American cask maturation bringing it all together nicely.
Tasting note:
Nose: Like an old-school sweetshop, there are strawberry laces, rhubarb and custard confections and even foam bananas.
Palate: Richer and more chocolatey than on the nose, there’s ice cream wafer and biscotti in with gentle peppery spices.
Finish: Dries out nicely into toasted oak.
