A true Speysider distilled in the town of Aberlour (also home to Walker's shortbread with which this whisky pairs remarkably well), Aberlour is highly sought after by independent bottlers. The spirit is rich and fruity, and suits maturation in sherry casks.
The 16-Year-Old is matured in a combination of sherry and 1st fill bourbon casks
Nose: Rich sherry like tones, some dry spice with juicy dates and toffee caramel leading to some nice winter fruit preserve.
Palate: Sweep stewed fruits and delicate honey spice, hints of coco and dates, some latte foam with hints of fresh baked cookies. A true classic you will enjoy as an after dinner sipping dram.
