Built on the banks of the River Tay in the Scottish Highlands, Aberfeldy Distillery produces an unusually honeyed and delicate whisky. It's been operating since 1898 and produces whisky for Dewar's Blend.
The 12-year-old is an interesting departure from better known speyside and highland malts,
Nose: offering an indulgent dram with notes of wild-flower honey, some soft spices with dark fruits.
Palate: Rich autumnal orchard fruits and soft vanilla highland tablet and vanilla ice-cream. Just a final flourish with a dash of sweet soft smoke.
