Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 2 60% 70cl
Ayrshire distillery Lochlea returns with the second batch of its celebrated Cask Strength whisky! Older than the inaugural 2023 cask strength release, it comprises 60% ex-Pedro Xímenez casks, 28% ex-Oloroso butts, and 12% STR barriques for a weightier, fruit-forward profile. While it doesn’t carry an age statement, the distillery has confirmed Cask Strength Batch 2 is made to a recipe with both four- and five-year-old whisky.
Lochlea tasting notes:
Nose: Apples, peach syrup, marmalade
Palate: Wild lavender, rose petals
Finish: Black pepper, dried fruit, hints of apple and pear
