Herman Upmann war ein Bankier aus Deutschland, der kubanische Zigarren so sehr liebte, dass er 1844 nach Havanna zog und sich sowohl als Bankier als auch als Zigarrenhersteller niederließ. Seine Bank wurde in den frühen 1920er-Jahren geschlossen, aber seine Zigarren leben weiter als ein schönes Beispiel für eine elegante Zigarre mit leichtem bis mittlerem Geschmack
