Exploring the impact of cask type, age, barley type, heat, humidity, coastal influence and more, the limited edition Micro Provence series is a celebration of Islay maturation. Bruichladdich meticulously selected single casks for this series to showcase the nuanced influences on the spirits complexity.
This bottling was aged for 11 years in a second-fill oak cask, allowing the spirit to shine and was distilled using publican barley. Only 260 bottles have been produced from cask #0917
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Toasted coconut and vanilla shine through as a direct influence from the second-fill oak cask Spiced baked apples and pears follow, creating a wonderfully warming mouthfeel.
Palate: Vanilla sweetness hits first, developing into a spicy oak-warmth. Dark chocolate covered orange peels emerge, balanced by oaky tannins .
Finish: Long and warm. Nutmeg and cinnamon persist alongside lingering oak.
