An exciting independently bottled rye whisky distilled at Finnish distillery Kyrö. The LBD team travelled over to the distillery with the ambition to pick out something special. They more than hit the brief with this release – a malted rye matured in a Cognac cask! It was distilled back in July 2018, disgorged in June 2024, and bottled by the team in July. Just 315 bottles have been released at natural colour and cask strength, and without chill-filtration. Wondering what ‘Pieni Ruskea Koira’ means? It’s simply ‘Little Brown Dog’ in Finnish!
Tasting notes from Little Brown Dog:
Nose: Green grapes, modelling clay, petrichor
Palate: Good filter coffee, walnuts, chocolate raisins
Finish: Freshly grated nutmeg, cognac, long, warm and luxurious.
