Foursquare 14 Year Old ECS Touchstone XXII 61% ABV
The latest release from renowned Barbados rum distillery Foursquare, this expression (the 22nd, or XXII) in the Exceptional Cask Selection collection is released as a part of a collaboration. Back in January, Foursquare took ten Cognac casks as part of Camus’s Caribbean Expedition programme. After a year, the Cognac went back to France. The casks stayed, to be filled with 12-year-old ex-Bourbon Foursquare rum. After a further two years, the results are here!
Tasting note:
Nose: A riot of tropical fruits along with a savoury vegetal hint. Vanilla, butterscotch, coconut and hazelnuts come through, too.
Palate: More fruits, this time a little drier. Rose notes come through too, alongside a surprising tea note. Rich, round and complex.
Finish: Long and bold with a subtle mint note.
