Caperdonich 50 Year Old Duncan Taylor Rarest 47.9% 70cl

Built in 1898, Caperdonich was originally established as Glen Grant No.2, created to support its more famous neighbouring distillery while quietly developing a distinctive character of its own. Although sharing the same water source and similar equipment, the spirit produced at Caperdonich carried a unique identity. After closing in 1902, the distillery remained dormant for more than sixty years before being revived with modern distilling technology and officially renamed Caperdonich. Despite its rebirth, the distillery was permanently closed in 2002, with the final buildings demolished in 2011. Today, its legacy survives through the equipment repurposed across other Scottish distilleries, while the remaining whisky stands as an increasingly rare piece of Scotch whisky history.

Distilled in 1969 and matured for five decades in oak cask number 3253, this extraordinary Caperdonich was bottled in 2020 at its natural cask strength of 47.9% ABV. With only 88 bottles produced worldwide, each bottle represents an exceptionally rare opportunity to experience a lost distillery and a true fragment of whisky heritage.
