Islay distillery Bruichladdich is a much-celebrated maker. And this 22-year-old first-fill bourbon barrel release, from celebrated independent bottler Chorlton Whisky, underscores exactly why. While the distillery releases unpeated whisky under its Bruichladdich brand, this single cask bottling very much has a waft of smoke running through it. Deliciously coastal with warming grain notes too, this is a treasure of a whisky at 56.7% ABV. Just 181 bottles have been released at natural colour and without chill-filtration.
