Inspired by a 19th century recipe, whole Moroccan yuzu are macerated in cognac prior to distillation. The resulting spirit is then matured with fruits, spices and vanilla and is fortified with cognac again before bottling to add an extra depth.
Nose: Opens with aromas of zesty yuzu and mandarin followed by vanilla and marzipan, with a touch of flowers (rose and geranium) and herbaceousness.
Palate: The palate is rich and round, following the nose with a candied citrus profile (yuzu, mandarin, lime) and waxy impressions of tropical fruits, almond, plums, toffee, nutmeg and tea.
Finish: The finish is very long on citrus, herbs, and sweet pastry notes with soft spices and vanilla.
