Inchgower 27 Year Old 1997 Thompson Bros 52.3% 70cl
A vibrant, well-aged vatting of two refill hogsheads from coastal Speyside maker Inchgower, meticulously honed by celebrated independent bottler, Thompson Bros. The often-overlooked distillery – it is primarily used as a blending malt – is known for its distinctively bright, fruity character, and this doesn’t disappoint. It’s been bottled with a touch of dilution to bring out the tropical fruit and sweet shop notes.
Official tasting notes:
Nose: Salty almond croissants, some marshmallows, pineapple, Percy Pigs, crunchy nut cornflakes, nutmeg, walnuts. Mango and ginger.
Palate: Tangerine, banana bread, osmanthus, pineapple cubes, Haribo hearts, hazelnuts, lime and cashews. The Texture is super oily, with more mango.
Finish: long and elegant with some marmalade and brine at the end.
