Glenglassaugh Sandend has made waves since its launch, picking up the sought-after accolade of Whisky Advocate's 2023 Whisky of the Year. The expression is inspired by Sandend Bay, where the distillery is situated. The beautiful bottle is designed to reflect the coastal landscape that imparts a flavour-driven sense of place into each of Glenglassaugh's bottlings.
Tasting notes:
Matured in ex-bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks, this bight malt brings hints of tropical sweetness balanced with a crack of sea salt.
Nose: vanilla ice-cream adorned with pineapple and mango.
Palate: Milk chocolate, salted-caramel this more tropical fruits and a touch of cherry.
Finish: lingering citrus.
