For The Dolls is a vibrant 13-year-old Dailuaine single malt raising funds for an incredible cause. Distilled in 2012 and matured in a single hogshead, it captures all the rich, dessert-like sweetness that Dailuaine brings. All profits from this bottle are donated to trans+ charity Not a Phase, which works to uplift the lives of trans+ adults throughout the UK.

The idea came from whisky writer Kristiane Westray in April 2025, following the UK Supreme Court’s damaging and transphobic ruling on the definition of gender. For The Dolls is a powerful statement that whisky is for everyone, including the trans+ community. Tasting notes:

Nose: Aromatic and elegant with lemon meringue, orange oil green apple, pecan and dried floral notes. Fresh melon brings some juiciness, while rich tea biscuits, tobacco box and a distinctive hessian note contribute a savoury, oily complexity. Cinnamon bun, jam doughnuts and cola cube sweets build, while straw and forest floor elements develop with time.

Palate: The palate is immediately juicier, with pear, blackberry, lemon strudel and rhubarb and custard notes. As you return to the glass it dries out, with hazelnut, hay, black tea and bready notes emerging. An earthy depth adds yet another layer.

Finish: Medium with drying oak and gentle baking spices.
