Independent bottler Mossburn only selects casks that it considers to be exceptional for its Vintage Casks range. These bottlings aim to offer a snapshot of classic examples of distillery character from some of Scotland’s most celebrated whisky-makers. And this Blair Athol cask achieves just that! Matured for over a decade and finished in a Monbazillac cask as resulted in vibrant orange notes with floral honey, with oily fudge and boiled sweets on the palate. Lovely. It’s been bottled at natural colour and cask strength with no chill-filtration.
