Much-loved (and sadly now finished) bottling series Whisky Sponge is known for releasing sensational whiskies. This 27-year-old Ben Nevis single malt is up there with the very best. A sister release to bottling 58a, it’s been finished in a second-fill sherry butt for just over two years. Slightly reduced at bottling to 55%, it offers an array of funky stewed fruit and dense earthy notes with a touch of sulphur.
