Diageo Special Releases 2023
Diageo Special Releases 2023 is a Spirited Xchange – a cultural amalgam of flavours, craft and artistry. Each of the eight releases brings a shimmering newness, from the first official Roseisle bottling, to innovative cask finishes. The line-up is the inaugural Special Releases collection from master blender Dr. Stewart Morrison. We invite you to dive into this vibrant world of whisky exploration.
Mortlach The Katana’s Edge
A no-age statement expression finished in ex-Pinot Noir casks. The bottle design features a golden gleam, representing the umami that cuts through the otherwise ripe, fruity single malt.
The Singleton The Silken Gown
A 14-year-old single malt finished in Chardonnay de Bourgogne French Oak casks. The flowing gown on the bottle reflects the layers of golden fruit and warm toffee that flow through the expression.
Talisker The Wild Explorador
Finished in a combination of White, Tawny and Ruby Port Casks, this is a celebration of the sea. A splash of salt carves through the dark fruit waves, referencing the Portuguese boat design.
Lagavulin The Ink of Legends
The 12-year-old Lagavulin release celebrates the art of tattooing. Its inherent smokiness is amplified through the use of Don Julio Ańejo tequila casks, giving a herbal lift to the bonfire-like whisky.
Roseisle The Origami Kite
The very first official public release from The Roseisle distillery in Speyside. First-fill ex-bourbon and refill casks give a showcase of the distillery character through this 12-year-old single malt.
Glenkinchie The Floral Treasure
One of the oldest Glenkinchie releases to date, this 27-year-old expression makes the most of refill American and European oak barrels and butts. Fresh, springlike and alluringly lush.
Oban The Soul of Calypso
An energetic, vibrant expression, this 11-year-old release pairs Oban’s signature coastal character with the tropical funk of a cask that previously held Caribbean pot still rum. A bold celebration dram.
Clynelish The Jazz Crescendo
Matured exclusively in ex-bourbon American oak casks, the waxy Clynelish spirit shines through with caramel latte and vanilla spice notes. The inherent harmony is reflected in the trumpet on the label.
